About

No Kid Hungry is a national campaign working to end childhood hunger in America, built on the promise that no child should go hungry. It is a campaign of Share Our Strength (EIN 52-1367538), a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit dedicated to ending hunger and poverty. Share Our Strength launched the No Kid Hungry campaign in 2010, after 25 years of investing in local nonprofits fighting hunger and poverty.

Mission

No Kid Hungry works to ensure that every child in America has the food they need to grow up healthy, happy, and strong. The campaign's approach recognizes that every kid needs three meals a day, and it focuses on connecting children to the food programs that already exist in their schools and communities.

What they do

The campaign concentrates on four main program areas:

  • School meals — helping schools make sure every student starts the day with a healthy breakfast, recognizing that schools do more than teach children, they also feed and care for them
  • Summer meals — addressing the gap for children who rely on free meals at school, for whom summer can be the hungriest time of year
  • Grocery benefits — helping families access grocery benefit programs
  • Support for families at home — making sure parents have the resources they need to care for their families

No Kid Hungry states that it has helped schools and communities across the country feed millions of children.
