About
The National Asian Pacific Center on Aging (NAPCA) is a Seattle-based national nonprofit that serves Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander older adults. Its mission is empowering older adults through advocacy and access to resources essential to their well-being and independence, regardless of language or culture, and its vision is a world without language or cultural barriers, where all older adults have full access to services, resources, and opportunities.
Mission
NAPCA works to ensure that older adults can access services, resources, and opportunities regardless of the language they speak or the culture they come from, combining direct services with national advocacy on behalf of AANHPI seniors.
What they do
- Multilingual Helpline serving Vietnamese, Korean, Mandarin, and Cantonese speakers, connecting older adults with services and benefits information.
- Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP), a federal job training and community service employment program for low-income older workers.
- EPA Senior Environmental Employment (SEE) Program, placing older workers in roles supporting the Environmental Protection Agency.

History
NAPCA was established on November 1, 1979, evolving out of a research initiative begun in 1976, the Pacific/Asian Elderly Resource Center Development Project, which operated in Chicago, New York, Honolulu, and San Francisco to connect Asian American seniors with available services.

Per Form 990 data on ProPublica Nonprofit Explorer for the fiscal year ending June 2025, NAPCA reported revenue of $21.7 million, expenses of $21.2 million, and net assets of $1.77 million, with contributions accounting for 99.9 percent of revenue. The U.S. Department of Labor provides the majority of NAPCA's funding, supplemented by grants from NCOA, USAging, Archstone, and corporate sponsors.
