The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) is one of the nation's leading nonprofit organizations supporting Hispanic American students on their path to and through higher education. Founded in 1975 and headquartered in El Segundo, California, HSF empowers students and parents with the knowledge and resources to successfully complete a higher education, while providing scholarships and support services to as many exceptional students, HSF Scholars, and alumni as possible. To date, HSF has awarded more than $756 million in scholarships.

What they do
- The HSF Scholar program, which selects 10,000 outstanding students as HSF Scholars each year, with merit-based awards ranging from $500 to $5,000 based on relative need
- Distribution of more than $30 million in scholarships annually
- Scholar support services, including career services, mentorship, leadership development, knowledge building, and wellness training
- Internship and job placement assistance, plus signature events such as the National Leadership Conference, STEM Summit, Finance Conference, and Sports, Media and Entertainment Summit
- College preparation resources for students and parents, including scholarship and college finder tools
- Alumni engagement and mentoring, and a Fund A Scholar program that lets donors directly support individual scholars
Eligibility for the HSF Scholarship requires Hispanic heritage; US citizenship, permanent legal residency, or DACA status; a minimum 3.0 GPA for high school students or 2.5 for college and graduate students; planned full-time enrollment at an accredited four-year university or graduate school; and completion of the FAFSA.

According to ProPublica Nonprofit Explorer, the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (EIN 52-1051044) reported revenue of $128.8 million and expenses of $76.4 million for the fiscal year ending March 2026, with net assets of $151.2 million, up from revenue of $54.5 million and expenses of $70.1 million in the fiscal year ending March 2025. Contributions accounted for about 96 percent of revenue in the most recent year.
